PHOTOS FROM PORT STEPHENSI first went to Port Stephens when I was a little boy in the 1970 s , back then it was mainly holiday cottages along the waterfront .
These days  it is a fast growing suburbia as more people move into the area where there was bushland now filled with houses and still growing.
Despite the growing population it still remains a beautiful place to visit and live withy an abundance of wildlife such as parrots ,whales , snakes and many more as well as beautiful beaches.
Port Stephens is two hours drive north of Sydney close but far away enough for when I want to get away from Sydney one can laze on the beach there are a few to choose from or go whale watching plenty of dolphins around as well .
In short Port Stephens is a playground well worth the visit you will not be disappointed .

                                   THE BULL ANT The Bull Ant is one you do not want to have joining your picnic  for they are on mean nasty creature very, very aggressive they are no matter how big you are they will stand up to you and some species can jump onto you if you get close enough the one pictured below known as the jumping jack or Bulldog ant. There are about 94 different species of the Bull Ant throughought Australia and some of them have the most toxic venom in the insect world .
