The Call of the WhipBird

When out in the bush you would have a chance to hear the call of the WhipBird, so called because it sounds like a whip crack.

The whipBird is very common in Eastern Australia and it is the male that makes the whip crack sound and the female that responds with a couple of notes afterwards.

So next time you are the bush take time out to listen the birds you'd be surprised at the different calls they make.
